I got a new coat, which I needed in the worst way. It has really atrocious, obviously fake fur around the hood, but I wouldn't have chosen it if it had real fur. I couldn't have worn that in good conscience. It is really warm and I needed a coat. My good coat is a wool blend. I go to a church in a very affluent suburb and there are a lot of fur coats there in winter. Mostly on older ladies. I think there was a different standard of wearing fur in the past because my mother had a fur coat when I was little and so did my grandmother. I heard a commercial on the radio for a local furrier offering deep discounts on chinchilla, beaver and other furs. Gives me the shivers. Make mine microfiber, please! (With synthetic filling, cause I'm allergic to down.)

In the city I live in they shut down a fur shop because of protesters. It's stupid. The animals are already dead. They went through and started spray painting the coats!!! I'm not for fur coats but if they're already made they might as well sell them, and not just waste them.

It's about supply and demand. Same thing with puppymillers and other people who exploit animals. If you give in to their greed, you're only supplying money for them to perpetuate the cycle. Greed breeds greed. If those coats sold, the next batch would be available in no time because the first ones sold.

Still you shouldn't spray paint them!!! It's just stupid that someone that stupid would do something that STUPID!!!! Most protesters like that are dumb as rocks. lol
