Not your traditional dinner that is for sure but I have no idea what. We are on our way to my husband's aunt's now and I will let you all know what we had when we return.

I can tell you dessert as I made it.

dessert: Pandoro with orange glaze and mixed winter fruits.

My rainbow bridge babies have forever left their paw prints on my heart.
Lilith & Vixen, taken too soon. I love you always.

when we were kids my mom made the most wonderful chocolate pudding cake, just full of gooey, warm goodness. she only made it for christmas, both my baby brother and i have declared it our favorite holiday food memory.
today i'll make roast pork with orange cranberry relish, mashed potatoes with butter, green bean casserole, maple glazed carrotts, rolls and coconut pudding for dessert. but first, a long walk with the dogs to work off this mornings eggnog cinnamon french toast, sausage and coffee breakfast.
enjoy the joy of the day! and i'ts just food, nothing more.

We have smoked salmon as a starter and veal escalopes with a sauce of cream and mushrooms and white wine and green asparagus as a side dish and of course I make it myself

This is in no way classical but it's only the two of us and my mom and I wanted something not too heavy.

My sister baked 15 different Christmas cookies (can you believe it- I was baking one full weekend last year and only head 7 different kinds) and sent them to us so you can have them in between - we will not be starving

dessert: Pandoro with orange glaze and mixed winter fruits.
    For starters we had
    crostini with smoked salmon

    then seconds consisted of
jumbo shimp on a bed of baby spinach with cantalope chunks
jumbo scallops on the half shell with oil, garlic, parsley & bread crumbs
crawfish in a spicey red sauce

    and main course was
broiled tuna steak with fresh veggies

    and finally for dessert
caramel mousse covered with chocolate shaving
pandoro with an orange glaze and mixed fruit

we also had white wine: Terra Crua & Chardonnay
