unless your kitty is a proven representative of her breed( Purebred only ) , as proper breeding should ONLY be done by experienced breeders who breed to better improve the genetic lines of the said purebred cat.

However if your cat is just a regular domestic house cat, it should NEVER be bred as that only contributes to the overpopulation even more.
PLEASE get her spayed immediatley (actually at her age,it should have already been done ) so she can live a happy healthy life without having to raise any young.
Oh , and please try and keep her indoors as it a much safer environment rather than being outside.

Even at that, just because a pet is a 'purebreed' doesn't give everyone the right to breed them.

HERE is a link about backyard breeding. The article refers to dogs, however if you just substitute CFA for AKC it would be appropriate for cats for the most part.

I have a similar story to tell about my cat that got pregnant at right over a year old. She had 4 beautiful kittens, one was solid gray and one was solid orange, another was orange with white and the last was solid black. They were all different and I loved them a lot. Soon after giving birth, I noticed that the solid orange was dead. I was heartbroken and didn't know what happened. The other kitties were very weak and I went immediately and bought them some formula and figured that the mother was just not feeding them and I didn't know why.



I fed them and made a incubater box for them and didn't sleep all night worrying if they were going to survive and how was I going to feed them every two hours when I had to work. I did research online to find out information on hand raising kittens and and to find out why she stopped feeding them, and found out that my cat may not produce milk. I decided to check her and sure enough there was no milk coming out.


I kept feeding the babies and was reading as much info as possible to try and keep them alive and healthy but a few hours later the rest died, the last one died in my arms. I was extremely sad and heartbroken!


I have been meaning to have her spayed but I haven't had the money and time and that is my fault, I keep her in-doors at all times but I have a male cat also and that is how she got pregnant. I have now learned from this experience and I wan't to volunteer some time to help out with the over-population of cats and dogs because way too many are killed every year and it is really sad.


I had both of my cats spayed/neutered at Atlanta Animal Shelter for almost "free" of charge, at a large discount. There are several centers that you can find in your area that (A. charges by your income) or (B. will only charge $40-60 no matter what your income.) I did not know this before finding this info out doing research, but it is worth having your cat spayed/neutered if you really love them and want them to be healthy.

The website that I have is for Atlanta only but it is a complete website full of information and also has several centers where you can have your cat(s) and dog(s") spayed/neutered at a low cost. The website is www.spotsociety.org and My cats seem to be healthier now and much more loving, so it is worth the $65 I spent on both of my cats.
