Wow that's just ridiculous... I remember in the 1st grade I gave my teacher a kiss goodbye on the last day of school(on the cheek) and often kiss my friends goodbye(on the cheek). In no way was it meant to be sexual. It's just my way of saying goodbye.

I'll be darned if my little sister gets suspended for hugging someone.

this is beyond rediculous...this is down right outragous. I mean come on you are talking about a 5 year old. They copy what they see adults do how the hell does the child know it is not "correct" if adults do it and laugh? Society has really taken some things WAY too far and this is definately one of them.

Please people get a life and better yet get a BRAIN !!!!!

That's just assinine. How ridiculous is that? We have kids bringing guns and knives to school and we are worried about a 5 year old who has no concept of what's going on.

I did find this quote interesting though:

According to a school document provided by the boy's father, the 5-year-old pinched a girl's buttocks on Dec. 8 in a hallway at the school south of Hagerstown.

Charles Vallance, the boy's father, said he was unable to explain to his son what he had done.

Why can't he just tell the kid it's not nice to pinch someone's backside and leave it at that for now?

For me it seems the father couldn't tell the child because it is posssibly a habit the father has with the mother or girlfriend and just doesn't know how to tell him it is not nice to do to people when he himself does it.

This is so STUPID. As the guardians and teachers of these young children, we're supposed to be teaching them appropriate and inappropriate touching. Jeez! How is suspending a kindergarten child going to teach them anything about appropriate and inappropriate touch? It's just going to confuse and scare them. What a sadistic move on the school's part!
