SHE IS MY GRANDPUPPY!
Yep, I have a grandfurkid. Isn't she just too cute? Brandon and Ashley spotted her on our humane society website and they both had to work the next day so they sent me to get her. I have to say that it felt so good to go there and rescue that sweet little thing and I wish I could have walked out of there with a few more.
Her name is Sammi, short for Samantha May. She went to the vet yesterday and he guesses she is 9 weeks old and she weighs a whole 5 pounds...lol. She is so tiny compared to my two girls! I had to puppysit the first 3 days that they had her and that little girl wore me out. She is so tiny and just never stops. So hard to get pics of her. The kids just bought a house but won't get to move in until sometime at the end of the month or the 1st of Jan. so when they both have to work I get to puppysit. They live in an apt. now and no dogs allowed, so that is why they don't leave her there when she has to be alone.
Jess, I told the kids they were going to have to pay to have my carpet cleaned but all I got was a big NO WAY. Can you believe that?!She is doing much better with the housetraining and starts to whine now when she has to go potty.
Tori loves her and I think they will be great friends but of course Katie can't be trusted with her. She gets to sniff and lick her once in awhile but Kate can't be trusted. Brandon came in with Sammi today and we all took a walk and Sammi was so cute trying to keep up with my two big girls and even walked under Katie a few times and Katie was good and acted like she didn't even care.
Here are some more pics!
Maybe this little akita puppy will play with me.
More to come....
Ashley just sent me this picture yesterday. Too sweet!
Just in case you are missing my two girls, who seem like giants now..lol...here is a pic of them. Still wonderful sisters and the best of friends and my lifesavers right now.
Oh and I have a video of Tori and Sammi. I didn't know that huskies were in the herding group. Tori actually does really well with her and doesn't usually touch her just herds her around. At first Sammi was kind of scared of her but now she will come back at Tori and paw at her and it is so cute! Everyone once in awhile Tori accidentally will roll her over but Sammi doesn't seem to mind and comes back for more.
Tori and Sammi

Katie "adjusted" to Tori moving in - why don't you think Sammi can be made welcome?
For Sure - you need to closely *Supervise* ... but it sure would be nice if they could
ALL get along peacefully.

We are working on it, Phred. She does get supervised visits, but we just have to be extremely careful. Twice Katie has given some very serious growls. The kind of growls that says she means business. She has been put in her place. It's like Karen said, Sammi is too close to chew toy size for Katie. It wouldn't take much at all for her to seriously injure the little pup. Katie weighs 90 pounds and Sammi is only 5 pounds. Today Brandon and I took the 3 of them for a walk and they did well. Every once in awhile Sammi even got underneath Katie's legs and Katie didn't seem to mind. Katie's dog aggression was not as bad when we got Tori. It seems to have gotten worse as she has gotten older.Originally Posted by Cinder & Smoke
