Queenscoopalot, do you have any pictures of your own cats, i'm particularly interested in seeing skippy, he looks so cute from your signature
Skippy is one of my most favorite cats (I hope the others don't catch me typing this lol). When I rescued him he was a kitten, and within days came down with very bad pneumonia. He was close to death for many days at the vets, but he finally was stable enough for me to bring home. He needed force feeding & sub-q fluids for almost a month, and ended up needing to have one eye enucleated. He survived and is now a huge boy and thriving! Here's my favorite pictures of him...

I have no idea what method they use at this shelter for doing in the cats & dogs. I'm nowhere near the shelter, but was asked to pass along Ben's info in hopes someone on PT may be close enough, and bighearted enough to try helping the poor guy.

I got this also on a special needs forum a few days ago and put it up on the Best Friends network . They are, however, about to remove it because you can't use their "Urgent Need" forum unless it's for 50+ animals who need immediate rescue. We can only post in our own state's community forum. Grrrrrr! - which is what I posted back to them.

I wish people didn't panic about FIV+ cats. I'm keeping track of another one in Nevada who is also "out of time" because the people who were about to adopt him had him tested at the shelter and backed out when they found out he was positive. I hope they both find good homes and fast. I simply can't take in any more.
