If it is my mistake, I return and pay. If it is their mistake, however, I consider it a freebie.

I would have gone back & paid for it. Don't need any bad karma.

I'm a strong believer in karma, so when this happened to me (with some face wash) I went back and paid for it. We have people who do this at our store too, and sometimes we'll give tham a 10% discount just for being awesome.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

I probably would of done the same thing you did, return to pay for it. My consense is just way to strong & heavy. lol
I couldn't even count the times I've been handed the wrong change (IN my favor) yet I always speak up & make sure I get the correct change.

I would have paid for it as well. The guilt of not doing so would have haunted me forever~!

I probably wouldn't have gone back. Most of the time when I go shopping with my mom or something, by the time we get to the car and realize we forgot to pay for one thing or something, we are too lazy to go back and pay an extra $2 or something. Now, if it was something expensive, then sure I'll go back! It's happened a couple times and by the time I get to the house, I forget about it.

Me, too! I need to consider my time and energy and gas price, etc., so, I have no problem with this 'policy'.

This is how I see it. I would feel horrible if I accidentally took something unpaid, but I feel elated when they goof and I get something free or cheap.

I personally don't see how someone could NOT go back and pay. It would lay on my concious for a long while. No matter how much the item costs, it does not belong to me unless I pay for it.
