Every person is entitled to their opinion, of course.

I think these problems are nothing new. Treatment of animals and humans throughout the world has always been an issue. Look at history from all points of the planet! We can never cure the problems of the world, only effect them. I do my best and that is all you can do.

My first thought for helping out would be to educate folks. From day one..... but who would take that on?

Secondly I would make mental health services FREE. Half of these people have mental problems and have never been treated. I am a real 'free services for mental health" advocate - and think all of us could use a few healthy hours talking to an expert about our issues from time to time. It is so expensive that many cannot afford it. Insurance coverage is horrible in the US for mental health.

Education, education, education.

Volunteer, volunteer, volunteer.

Get invovled! I know I am preaching to the choir here! Many folks here are already dealing with their pets and children in a top notch way, but we can always kick it up a notch and share our experience and feelings with thoses who are uninformed...volunteer at your local shelter...for kids and/or for pets!
