Thread: Chica is getting Pet Health Insurance!!

    I like the idea of "never letting money make a difference on whether you treat your pet." However, there are some things that worry me about VPI. Perhaps someone here can clear this up for me.

    On their site: VPI - What is Not Covered

    It says at the top, "Congenital or hereditary defects or diseases "

    I would assume this includes things like heart murmurs and luxating patellas?

    Congenital and hereditary defects are some of my worst concerns.

    Any thoughts?

    Not necessarily= if its listed in the breed of health defects, then no- but like Hotties condition is not listed as in the breed ( OCS and degenerative arthritis). Also- like my vet and my daughters, they accept the insurance with a token check that is never cashed to be paid.
    The condition to be over 50 percent of the breed. Thats pretty high- even then like with sighthounds sensitivity to anethesia, they paid the anethesia too...
