Here are some pictures of our beloved DJ Dog. He went to the RB on March 16th, 2005. It was so difficult not having him around the house, we got Zoee on April 8th, 2005.
These pictures show DJ (Dog Johnson) doing some of his favorite things. Fetching the tennis ball out at the lake, performing stupid pet tricks for dad, and hanging out in the backyard.
Late February, early March of 2005 we noticed DJ was not as active as he usually was. Then he began coughing and wheezing alot. So his daddy took him to the vet on Friday March 11th. The vet said he needed to go to the sugery center immediately. So he went there and they ran some tests and DJ came home with Daddy for the weekend. All weekend DJ coughed and wheezed and we could tell he was in pain. We would wake up with him in the middle of the night and just pet him and talk to him to help calm him.
The following Monday he went back to the surgery center where they performed surgery to remove an abcyst (not sure if that's spelled correctly) from his lung. He seemed to be doing okay after the surgery. But then when they would remove his oxygen he would begin coughing again.
On Wednesday afternoon I got a call at work asking if I wanted to come say good-bye to DJ. I worked over 30 miles away and it takes usually an hour to get home due to traffic. I left work immediately. While I was stuck in traffic, my boyfriend called to see where I was. I could hear DJ trying to breath in the background. I told him not to wait for me, to go ahead and put him to rest. Not even five minutes later he called me back and it was quiet. (Wow, tears are still flowing) When I got to the surgery center and saw him lying on the table I lost it!! I never thought I would touch a dead animal or anything, but I stood there and pet DJ's nose. DJ was 8 years old.

Reading all of these other stories and seeing all of the pictures of these beautiful dogs that were so loved....I'm going to need to stock up on tissues around here.
    Thank you all for sharing.

Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!
