I know it's been awhile and there are more important threads, but I thought I would give you an update.

My recovery has been very slow and I finally have the nerve pain under control. It's not gone, but very manageable and is not an issue at all anymore.

However, for the past couple of weeks I've been experiencing quite of bit of shortness of breath. It's gotten to the point where I can't do anything now without stopping to catch my breath. My rapid breathing is even keeping me awake at night and I'm not sleeping very well at all.....without a sleeping pill that is and I refuse to become addicted to those. I also have a stubborn cough that comes and goes but is sticking around for the most part.

I have an appt with my surgeon on Tuesday at which time I'll discuss these issues with him. If necessary, I'll request another chest x-ray or even a CT scan. I also have to talk to him about going back to work and get a note from him. If he says no working, then I will take his advice...although I'm getting quite tired of Judge Judy.

    Thanks for listening.

Edit: forgot to say that it's snowing really hard here right now so Max and I have decided to stay curled up in front of the gas fireplace today. Hmmm, bon bons anyone??
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Aw, Slick. You're in my prayers every day. I hope it's just part of the healing process that you're going through. I'll hold a good thought for you on Tuesday.

Slick, I sure wish the news was better. I'll be waiting for the doctor's report to see if what you are experiencing is normal.

My suggestion......CHANGE THE TV CHANNEL! (LOL)

I've been wondering how your recovery has been since we last heard from you. My life has been upside down so I haven't had much time for PT. Sorry to hear about these other problems but I'll send vibes over to lessen their effects. How are you supposed to catch Santa if you're short of breath?

What's with this weather? You're getting snow and Toronto is getting warm weather! We've had no snow yet and Wednesday they are forcasting 16 degrees!!! I think Vancouver and Toronto switched places but didn't tell us.

    Check this out: www.wellspring.ca

Also, a friend of mine and her partner(in Vancouver), who is battling cancer, have gotten a lot from the Integrated Health group (I think that is the name).

Also - check out Greg Anderson's book 50 Thing To Do After You are Diagnosed.( I think that is the title). I have heard raves about it.

That is so GREAT you have a surgeon that you trust and really like. The above are adjuncts to what you and he are doing, not substitutes.

HUGS HUGS HUGS to you! Hope to see you next weekend.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.
