Hey guys! Great news! He's eating again (just little bites of his normal crunchies) and is back in chipper spirits.
He's been playing with his toys and Kia but we're making sure he doesn't over do it.
We're still in Toronto btw so there was no way to get him to our vet (besides the fact she's gone on vacation)- I did talk to the vet staff on Saturday though and they talked me through the steps to take.
Last night was really rough. He refused the pedialyte and the cooked rice. We tried force feeding the rice to no avail. He was stressing out so we left him be. Even though the package said not too, we ended up diluting the pedialyte and he did take a few sips. We left a handfull of crunchies and rice in his crate with him overnight in the hopes he'd want some.
At 7 a.m. he woke us to the sounds of him sucking down the diluted pedialyte. I took him outside where he peed but there was no diarreha or vomit to be had. Yay! Upon coming back inside, he went over to Andy, gave him kisses, then went to the food bowl and started eating the crunchies!!
He then grabbed his toys and wanted to play tug. Then he initiated play with Kia. And it's been that way all morning.
I really think the turkey is what did a number on him. No people food ever again.... or at least for a real long time.
I'm not concerned about Parvo. He received a clean bill of health at the vets last Monday and his stool sample showed nothing wrong.
We'll be keeping an eye on him though. We also plan to make more stops on the way home so he can stretch his legs and get some fresh air.
Thanks so much for the PT prayers. They did wonders. We were really scared for a out little boy for a second there.
Actually... I got to go....they are running through the house like banshees at the moment...
