I'm assuming you are referring to initiative 933, a ballot initiative in Wa State?
Judging from the information on the web, and from the text of the initiative, it's not about destroying farmland to build shopping malls, it's about letting private property owners keep their property rights and not have them usurped by the state. While I agree with fair environmental restrictions on land use, the state should not dictate in any way what a land owner does with the property, as long as it is within environmental regs.
