Greys have unbelievably thin skin and fur. My rule of thumb is - if it's cold enough for me, it's cold enough for the dog. So if I have to pile on an extra blanket at night, Giselle gets an old shirt or coat (hence, the PJs) to sleep in.

Carol's coats are best for dogs in mild temperatures, but most Canadian hounds that I've seen have thicker coats like the ones that Andrea makes. Honestly, I don't think a snood would do much at all because these hounds just have no insulation at all. Sometimes, they really do need a coat! A simple $30 coat can last you many years.
