    More Chipper photos

For those who missed it, Andy and I got a new pup which you can read about here: http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=116858

Took a few photos of Chipper last night. Took them without the flash so you can get a better idea of his colors. None of Kia and Chipper together yet. Whenver they play I always closely supervise to make sure it is play and not him trying to be dominant or if he's merely picking on Kia, I'll put him in a time out.

When I got home from work I was pleasently surprised to find that he didn't have an accident in his crate. It does appear that he threw up a little though. I took both pups right outside where he peed, got praised and was given treats.

He didn't get bathed like originally planned because stupid me forgot his vaccination records at home. So he's rescheduled for tomorrow. Third times a charm I guess. Vet records are now in my purse so no chance of forgetting again!

So instead we went for a nice long walk. He pulled a lot so I'm considering getting a halti. He's very strong and my arm is now sore.

After their dinner he began to pounce from toy to toy. He brought me his stuffy wanting to play tug which I happily obliged. When the toy ripped (oops!), he decided to play with his rope toy. Kia pounced on him and they quickly tired themselves out with their play.

He's only asked to go out twice since we got back and both times he peed to which he got lots of praise and treats.

    Now they are winding down.

And now for what you've come for... photos!

One of the funny ways he sits... see how he bends his leg?

He looks shepherd/shar-pei to me. I guess I could see basenji, but if you look at shar pei mixes, they look similar. I mean on a quick look, here's some sharpei/shepherds:

Anyways, he's really cute! Love the bowed out elbows

What a good boy! im glad he & Kia are getting along. Does he have some ACD in him? I thought he was an ACD mix, like Kia, but without husky. He looks very solid and strong, using a gentle leader really helped me walking with my "bulldozer" Rosie. No more pulling, ever!

I also thought he looked like he could have some Shar-pei in him.

Chipper sure has a mix of colors & he's a handsome dog.He looks so
bright and alert. Have you ever considered the prong collar? It was a
lifesaver for me with Buddy. I use it for Maggie & Smokey as well.

Aww, he sure is a handsome boy. I would still think ACD (or maybe basenji) from the shape of his head. I am glad to hear that he is doing so well in his new home.

I don't think he's quite so bad that he'll need a prong collar. But we'll see.

I found he doesn't pull too badly when walked with a harness. With a regular collar, he chokes himself pulling and I can barely control him, and with the Martingale Collar, he pulls a little less and is easier to correct.

We'll be enrolling him in Obedience class soon, so I hope he'll catch on quick heel and how to walk without pulling.
