We used the VCA animal hospital, it's close to our house which was nice. Over all I really liked the staff, they were very friendly and the vet was also really great. We'd had issues with our normal vet as we really liked him but couldn't stand his staff, so we might just transition over to the VCA. It's also a plus that they have realistic hours. I know that the staff took good care of him last night because he wasn't mister cranky pants when Alexa picked him up! They said they didn't have any problems and he was sweet and friendly all night

Alexa spoke with the vet when she went to pick up Tuna. The new vet called our previous vets office to get Tuna's medical records and was concered when he read that crystals had shown up in his urine test a year ago when we took him in. Because of this he would like to do a second urine test in a couple of weeks just to make sure that the traces of blood are gone. While the blood could have been caused by stress it could also be a sign of crystals forming.

We have him an antibiotics and were are going to keep him on a special diet until we get the results of the second urine test and know that he is all clear.

I'll be sure to update when we get his blood test results.

Thanks for the great signature Kay!

I'm so glad to hear that Tuna is home now. I hope that he continues to do well and that it's only a minor UTI if anything. Please continue to keep us updated about him.

Laura, I also wanted to add that because you mentioned that Tuna is a bit overweight, you might want to discuss his weight problems with the new vet. I've heard from other vets that the more overweight they are then they're more likely to become blocked and or have UTI's. I'm not sure why this is true but you may want to ask your new vet about this.
