We free feed. There's no way with 29 cats I can be on a regular routine and work too! I do give them all a morning treat of a teaspoon of wet food. You would think they're starving the way they're waiting for it in the mornings!
We've put our cats on the "light" food, but we still have a couple of "plump" cats.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers
