In fact I almost got a GSD from Winifred Strickland "Wynthea Kennels"

Years ago after I had lost one of my Shepherds and I was "Shepherdless" I seriously looked at Akita's. I visited a couple of breeders and did a lot of research and reading about the breed. I went so far as to put a deposit on a future litter with a breeder. But another GSD happened to be made available to me and I decided to go back to Shedders as opposed to getting the Akita pup. I just love Akita's. We were showing once in Canada (can't remember where tho) and there was an Akita at the show that was breathtakingly beautiful ..... she had such a presence that I couldn't keep from looking at her .... I talked to her owner at length .... Winnie would have been a good place to get a shep, she is considered by many to be the foremost authority on obedienace training ...

I named my 3rd belgium from her- "Winnie" alias hundred acre woods.." lol..

I love Akita's. Never had a chance to own one but they are a gorgeous breed. My all time favorites though are White Shepherds. lol But maybe someday I will have the privilage to have an Akita in my life.
