I couldn't sleep very well either I had Corinna on my mind all night. My husband was working out of town when I saw the thread where she had passed. When he called me all's I could do was cry and tell him a member on here was gone. You are so right slick a precious life can be gone in an instant.

Thank you Kay for the beautiful sig!

My hubs is gone too. He just started a new job 900 miles from here, plus, he just had a defibrillator "installed" this summer, because he is a candidate for sudden death syndrome due to heart failure. I told him about Corinna, I wish he was here to hug. He sends his condolences to Corinna's family.

Karen, thank you for the update and address.
FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SEND A CARD, CORINNA'S HUSBAND'S NAME IS TIM BRUBAKER SEE KAREN'S POST (ABOVE) FOR THE ADDRESS.

Thank you for the update, Karen. What a wonderful lady she was and a true friend to all. I'm so glad she got to take those pictures with the family before this happened. I can't get her off my mind either.

    I've been Boo'd...
    Thanks Barry!

How about any charities that she liked? We could donate to them, too.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Val, this is what I was thinking as well. There must be a local rescue group in her own town that would welcome a donation in her name - it would be a good way to honor her in her own home.

I hate to try to contact her husband. Karen may have a better idea of this right now.

I will contact Tim again tomorrow afternoon, and will ask about charities to which she'd have liked donations to go.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news. Like Cataholic, Corinna also made a very beautiful quilt (with help from other wonderful pet-talkers) for my third child two years ago. Unfortunately I have not had much free time since her birth to keep up to date with pet talk. Karen e-mailed me to let me know of Corinna's passing. I am in shock and don't know what to say. I just want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have not been on the computer since last week, so this is the first time I have read about Corinna. I am so very sorry for your loss of such a special person. Will keep you close in thoughts and prayers....Sandra

From the Hungry Horse News (their local paper):

    Corinna Marie (Kager) Brubaker

Corinna Marie (Kager) Brubaker, 45, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2006, at her home in Columbia Falls.

She was born April 8, 1961 in Anacortes, Wash. to Barbara and Robert E. Kager. She attended Conway Grade School and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1979.

Corinna Married Timothy Brubaker on March 17, 1979. She has raised two children and just became a grandmother on June 18, 2006. She was a Girl Scout Leader for eight years in Mount Vernon, Wash.

They moved to Montana in 1994.

She worked in retail sales for the past 10 years.

Her interests were her spinning wheel where she spent uncountable hours making yarn for numerous projects for herself and others.

She loved lighthouses and carousels and orcas, all of which she has a large collection.

She spent time with the Flathead Spay/Neuter Task Force and was very active with Crossing the Barriers.

She was always working on some community project. She loved animals and spent uncountable hours on pet forums.

Corinna is survived by her parents, Barbara and Robert E. Kager of Mount Vernon, Washington; her husband of over 27 years, Timothy Brubaker of Columbia Falls; her daughter, Clarissa (Roger) McCallister; her son, Benjamin Brubaker; her granddaughter, Charity Jean McCallister; a brother, Robert W. Kager of Plummer, Idaho; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews in the Northern Puget Sound area; and also assorted fur kids.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at 1 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Columbia Falls.

The family has suggested that memorials be made to the Flathead Spay and Neuter Task Force.

Arrangements are with the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.
