Oh yay, it sounds like our special PT dogs are getting better. Good boy, Earle, you know the magic power of belly rubs, don't you? They will definitely help to make you feel better much faster.
So glad that Earle seems better today.I know that "look" in a pup's eyes
that you spoke of earlier. It's a very scary thing to see.I hope Earle
just keeps getting better & stronger.

Earle got to come home last night. The clinic is closed all weekend so he'll get more monitoring here than he would there. There's staff around and a vet on call, but my vet figured Earle might do better at home. He got very excited when I came to visit him. I'm not convinced he'll make the whole weekend at home.
He is doing better. He's brigher, not as lethargic, he wants cuddles and belly rubs and is giving kisses. He still won't eat. He's had about two mouthfuls so far. He's only allowed rice and low fat cottage cheese. I probably wouldn't eat that either! I might try adding a tiny bit of Paxil's kibble to see if he picks out the kibble. Paxil has chronic pancreatitis so she has a low fat food that might not bother Earle too much.
He is having some dry heaves and brought up some clear bile last night. He is drinking quite a bit of water that seems to be staying down. He looks very worried and bites at his belly sometimes. I think it still hurts or is uncomfortable at least. Last night he was playing with his squeaky tennis ball. Today he's moving more, but not playing. He's laying beside my chair right now.
If he can't keep the rice mixture down, he goes back to the vet immediately.
You can see how thrilled he is with the food offerings!
Aw, beautiful blue eyes. He looks terribly unhappy with what's in the bowl. But, I'm glad to hear he's able to at least keep the water down! Keep up the good work, Earle!

Awww, Earle, that's a very effective pathetic look, but it won't convince mom! she's gonna follow the vet's orders to a T! Try to eat a few bites, handsome boy, we're crossing paws & prayin you get better soon! (hugs)) and kisses, sweetie!
Aww, poor baby boy. I hope your body gets sorted out soon so you can start getting the good stuff again.Hugs and continued prayers for Earle.
So sorry to see that Earle is sick with pancreatitis. That is what Snoopy has too and he came home at noon today. He has a bunch of medicines and prescription dog food to eat. And we are to push the liquids. I know how pathetic Snoopy looked and although he is better he is still now his old self. Poor babies. The vet said pancreatitis can be very painful for dogs although Snoopy didn't seem to be having much problem with pain.
I will pray Earle gets through the weekend without another visit to the vets. Being at home without one of your babies is no fun!

Earle is supposed to eat 4-6 small meals a day right now. I called and asked if I could add anything to the cottage cheese/rice mix as he's just not going to touch that! He did actually eat his last meal after the addition of a tablespoon of turkey baby food. Good thing Beau the cat didn't eat it all when he was sick! I made the mixture into a bit of a slurry with a bunch of water and Earle lapped it right up! He seemed to perk up a bit after that.
"Heyoka, that is my ball. I am sick and Mom will make you give it back to me anyway!"
"told you so! My ball!!"
After a little play session, he came back inside and crashed on the futon again.
He has no stamina, but he played for a few minutes. Earle doesn't fetch, but he likes to get a tennis ball and bounce it around. He just won't bring it back! Like any good husky he was very happy to be out in the cold and it is COLD here today!
Yay for Sandi.I'm sure Earle is being loved on tons and tons!
