The **problem** with 10 mg of prednisone is that the pill is huge! I broke it into 1/4s...but, that means I pill him FOUR times, instead of once. I am going to call this other pharmacy, and see if they can get something else.

Nakita needs 1/4 of the smallest dose of Prednisone. Once you split the smallest pill into a 1/4 it's almost dust. Half the time I don't even know if she swallowed it since the breeze could have take it away when I wasn't looking.

You can also get a shot of Prednisone, maybe that would be easier? Not sure what dosage that would be? But I hope the drugs do help Tenny to be more comfortable. One of the possible side effects from the higher doses of Presnisone is anxiety, so you may want to watch out for that.

I'm sorry you don't have an answer yet. Waiting is absolutely the worst, especially when it involves test results. Hang in there Johanna.

You can have your vet write and actual prescription for the prednisone and have it filled at a people pharmacy. Prednisone comes in a liquid (for kids) and 5mg tables (that are VERY small). These might be other options for you and Tenny...
