I'd be afraid of lack of oxygen, aswell... but I've never used glass hoods for any of my aquariums. I'd probably buy a screen top just to be on the safe side... but thats me. I'm a rather paranoid person. =D

If it doesn't have holes I would buy another one.

Don't use the glass top if it doesn't have any holes... you could get a screened one for around $5 at the pretty much any pet storeIf you don't want to spend your money on a screened top then you could buy some live plants, which let off oxegen. With the screened top or not, I suggest you get some! It decorates the tank, too ^^
We had some live plants but they died on us. I'm going to get him some live plants probably next week. And i know this particular tank comes with a screened top so i may just get that. Thanks for the advice!
