How did you make the leap from the herding group to a sight hound?

Welcome and gorgeous animals in your pictures

Well age mostly. I love a good shepherd, but I got tired of barking and wanted a calmer dog, docile and borzois dont wag their tails even and a good walk or run works. I always admired them, as you tell by my website story, and always did serious obedience work etc, but just wanted a docile, quiet, big baby- alias = the Borzoi. I got my first 18 years ago, and never went back. Although they are big, easily 4 foot at the head, they are calm and quiet, and actually rather funny at times. Here is one of my youngest running into a 3 foot snow bank. ( I live in the mountains as you can see by the video- it is a crack up!) He was only 6 months old at the time. http://video.tinypic.com/player.php?v=4bqvnue

Nice to have another breeder on the board. I have a friend with two borzoi, interesting dogs. I also had GSDs growing up, but I made the switch to Belgians.
    I've been BOO'd!

During the shepherds I had two belgiums. Loved them to pieces. The first I got as from the Morristown seeing eye because she didnt make the grade because she would NOT disobey a command which is required for a seeing eye dog, and the second a wondeful none related belgium named "clipper" alias Eciplse. I also had one Terv as well.. which one do you have? they are sooooooooooo smart and gentle.

I have groenendael, no tervuren as of yet, but maybe one day. Would love a grey terv! I'll likely breed to a terv one day. I am searching for a nearby male to breed to next year and there are three times as many tervs as groens lol.
