It is indeed not unusual for Denver to get some snow during October. During my 16 years here, I've even seen the stuff fall in September! And in 1997, we got two feet of snow in late October. (That's not even the biggest Denver snowstorm I've seen--we got 32 inches of snow over a couple of days in March 2003.)
But the snow melts quickly here in the city, especially when it falls either early or late in the season. It'll start piling up in the mountains, of course, much to the delight of folks who ski.![]()
