    That a nice snake.
I suppose if there were snakes here that they could get on the porch through the lattice easily enough.
I wonder how the Cats and snake would interact.
    That would be very interesting.

ooh, he's CUTE!! It probably wasn't a good idea to email the website though. My dad just ignores emails like that usually. (He runs herpnet.net)

Aww look at the cute wittle baby face on him!!!
I dont know how people can be so afraid of something so much smaller then them. A tiny snake like that , its bite dosent hurt at all and its doubtful that its poisunious.

First of all, Yesssss all of my cats are inside only! Secondly, no I haven't heard back as to what kind he is. Hopefully he will be happy being an "outside only" pet!

Why ever would someone that runs a snake site ignore a request asking what kind of snake that was? That is really odd.

I just heard back from the snake expert. He has identified my little visitor as a young Northern Black Racer. I was surprised, as his coloring and markings are not at all what I thought would be a Black Racer. However, upon further investigation of my own, I did find that they are highly patterned and colored as this one is, when they are still young. Also, we did have an adult Black Racer visit our front sidewalk probably a year or more ago! So, it fits! Any way, he / she is not poisonous and will help keep our rodent and insect population under control!

You are pretty brave, I would have screamed my head off! And then after screaming I would've tried to catch it He's cute, and I'm glad you heard back from the 'snake place'. Is he still at your house?
