I'm so very sorry. I know how places can become special to us. There's a lake in Tennessee that I feel that way about. Maybe your dad can rebuild. I know it won't be the same at all but you still have the land and create new memories. But, don't forget the old. Maybe make a scrapbook with pics and you write some of your favorite memories in it.
