Ooh, can I join???
Since I just had a hysterectomy maybe I should be called Hormonal Spice. Will that work?
I do know Horse with no name and Smoke on the Water (although I was young when they were hits).
From Decker with Love
Hey! Can I join? I have the original vinyls for both Smoke on the Water and A Horse with No Name (By America, not Neil Young)
I can't sing, but I can say

Smooooooke on the waaaater
Just as good a Deep Purple! LOL!

I believe I have uncovered a MAJOR internet controversy.
When a number of people on this thread referred to Neil Young's Horse with No Name, I raced off to Google, to find out about it. I wondered whether Neil Young had had the hit in America while America had had the hit here, if you follow me. I found legions of websites discussing the question of why people think Neil Young wrote/recorded Horse with No Name, and of course other websites which believe that he did.
So, the question is, does anyone on PT have proof positive that NY recorded HWNN? Is anyone in possession of such a recording?
Welcome new Spicers!
I think Karen is going to lose her mind if we don't find the truth behind Neil Young and Horse with No Name. So, everyone, let's investigate!
OMG!!!! Bet the Spice Girls never had this dilemma. Zig a Zigga or whatever it was...........

wow, I looked that up too, and read a small article about the controversy . Maybe, "America" was inspired by "Crosby, Sills, Nash and Young.
Here's the link I read, maybe you saw the same one.http://www.accessbackstage.com/america/song/song005.htm
Now I'm just gonna have to look into this too. I found all the lyrics I posted on a Neil Young website. Here: NEIL YOUNG LYRICS I don't have any of his albums, cause I was never a Neil Young "fan". I was around "back then" and it was Neil Young! They played it a gazillion times on the radio. OMG, who would have thought this little thread would uncover such a controversy!![]()
*edit - I checked it out too, and both Neil Young & America recorded the song.
woohoo I think we have an answer! YAY!Originally Posted by cyber-sibes
