Slick, those drugs must be mighty good! So glad to see you here again. Don't rush things and you will be sure to get well.

    9/3/13
I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

I was going to say the same thing! You don't remember anything.....except Dr. Joel. Hmmmm......

Do not worry about not remembering anything. The body is a wonderful thing and it knows how to protect us when we need it most. My dad was in the hospital for an entire month before he was able to come home, and all he remembers are the last 2 days or so. The mind blocks out that which it doesn't want to remember, and as you can see by the conversations you don't remember having you were in a lot of pain and that is not necessarily something you want to remember! I do know they also have drugs that let you function quite normally, but block your memory, so it was either your mind protecting itself.....or it was the drugs.

As for being sleepy, again, it may be the drugs, but I think it's mostly your body telling you it needs to rest. The body needs to rest in order to heal more quickly so if you're tired and need a nap, don't fight it. Instead, snuggle with little Dr. Pete and dream he is Dr. Joel.

Please give smoochies to Max for me for being such a good nurse.

Slick, so good to see you up and posting on PT. Be gentle with yourself, take those naps, snuggle with the fur kids and dream of Dr. Joel

What a hoot - you call that girl for ten straight days and she doesn't remember the phone calls! HA! Well, "I" remember, and just think how difficult it was to "edit" all that you had to say so I could post on Pet Talk.

(especially the parts about Dr. Joel]

It's good to have her back home again isn't it?

Just heading out for my morning walk and will post about Dr. Joel when I get back but for now I want to share this.

Last night I dreamt that I was bridesmaid at a wedding.......are you ready for this??? Guess who was the bride???

    lbaker............

Laurie, is there something you want to tell us???
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Slickster, YOU were the one on drugs, not me. Next time I'm "committed" it will probably into a room with pads on the walls Gini, should we tell her about the conference call we had with her and what she said about... nah, I doubt she's strong enough yet

Better just tell us, Laurie. Don't burden Slick with unnecessary details yet.
