Fingers and claws crossed here for little Ziggy.![]()
If I read this right, you got a vet appointment on a Sunday? Wow! That is great!
Hope the antibiotics kick in real fast. And a little rice helps with the loose stools. Get well Ziggy!
Good thoughts for little Ziggy. What a rough week.
Do you A/D for syringe feeding?
I start if a cat doesn't eat for 24hrs. Just extra calories and energy, while the antibiotics kick in.
Ziggy girl! Get well.....you are way too cute to be sick!
Yes, I'm very lucky to have a veterinary hospital that is open 7 days a week. They're still only open until 5pm on Sat. and 4pm on Sun. but it sure does help. They're also only about 5-10 minutes away from me.Originally Posted by Freedom

Ziggy is still only eating some wet food. I tried mixing in some of her dry kitten food but she just licked the wet off it and left it.The wet food I'm feeding to her is Storm's Royal Canin Urinary S/O which is the only wet food that I have on hand. Luckily she's still drinking plenty of water on her own. I hope that by tomorrow she'll be able to eat some of her dry food. Thanks again for all of your concerns.
Thanks for reminding me Rosethecopycat.I just happen to have 2 cans of A/D that I bought last year for Pearl and never had to use. It's still good until Dec.2006 so I'll try some of this later on tonight. I'm sure she'll love it.

This is very frustrating and scary for you, and distressing to see her in some discomfort. Have you tried yogurt? It helps with digestive upsets, especially loose stools, and is particularly helpful when a cat is on antibiotics. I use the full fat version (plain, of course) since my cats are far more attracted to it than with any fat reduced version. I hope that she starts to get better soon.
I was hoping for a happy update too....![]()
What does your vet advize you to do? Just watch her and wait? What if she doesn't keep does pills in?

I am so sorry to hear that sweet little Ziggy Stardust isn't feeling well. I am sending lots of prayers from Indiana for her to get well soon!
She is so precious! Please keep us posted on her prognosis! (((hugs))) for worried Meowmie also!
How's Ziggy doing?
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers
Just caught this thread in Cat General~~~
I sure do hope that Ziggy gets to feeling better, it's got to be just as hard on Mom too!!!!!
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!!!!
Thanks again everyone.Ziggy is still not wanting to eat on her own so I now have to start force feeding her.
I've done this before with my RB Pepper so I have some experience. I gave her a large syringe full of water and A/D mixed together at around 7:15pm and then put her back in her cage so she could rest. I don't want to try to give her too much all at once because I want her to keep what little I can give her down.
I then gave her the antibiotic pill at 9pm and then gave her another syringe full of A/D and water mixture. I think that she got more of it on her than in her. She was also able to drink some water for me earlier so she's not dehydrated. She hadn't used her litterbox or thrown up during the day but she ate and drank very little this morning.I'm waiting to see how she reacts to the food I've given her before giving her any more. I also hope that she'll be able to keep the pill down.
The vet that I saw on Sunday said that if she didn't improve in 3 days that she should be seen again. I don't think that I can wait 3 days. I'm becoming a nervous wreck and all I do is think about her all day while I'm at work.If she's still like this tomorrow morning, I'm going to call the vets and let them that there's no improvement and ask them what to do next. They'll probably tell me to bring her on in. Please continue to say prayers and send positive thoughts her way.
I also noticed that Pearl wasn't acting like herself this evening. I hope that it's just the heat and nothing more. She barely ate her dinner and then when I was giving everyone their greenie treats, which are her favorite, she was sleeping and I had to get her attention. She ate them very slowly which is very unlike her and couldn't even finish them. Then she went back to sleep. I sure hope that she's not getting sick too. She's the one that always reminds me to feed them the greenies and she's also usually running around and bouncing off the walls chirping away. She's always very active. This is why I'm worried about her. Prayers for her wouldn't hurt either. Thanks. I hope that tomorroww will be a better day.
