Well, sometimes people go grey young though. I got my first grey hair at 19. I don't have a whole lot, so I just pull them out but I know people who were mostly grey by 30!

At the moment, I have "low-lights". Eventhough my hair is a dark color to begin with, I have darker highlights.

I used to have almost-black hair with a few pink highlights, before the school band made a rule that while we're doing contests, we must look semi-normal. I miss my old hair...
I very rarely dye all of my hair... it hasn't been completely dyed for well over a year (when the school band made their 'rule').

some sparse natural looking highlites. though i'm overdue to have them done, i'm only getting a trim. I may have to budget for another vet visit for Daisy.

That would be me! I am 50% grey and have been since I was 27. Which is exactly my point -- why color when you're 15 when in a few years you won't have the gorgeous color you have at 15???

I agree Mine is a natural jet black, although it looks burgundy-red in the sunlight. I'm loving it while I still have it!

Mine's colored. My natural color is black, as is my current color. Underneath the fake black is a layer of green and purple that's starting to show up. I'm 18 and have plenty of greys already so I like to have fun with my hair color. I've had every color on my head.. purple, blue, green, red, pink, blonde, turqoise, orange, you name it. I decided to dye it back to black recently because it was the one color no one has seen me with since elementary school.

KIM!!! I know you put 'have to' in italics..but, I just want to chime in, the more of us that don't colour our hair (like me), the more people won't feel compelled to do so (like my friend, Tina).

I used to highlight my hair. For years. But, I got so stinking sick of the 6 week visits, the time, the expense- blah. So, I haven't coloured or highlighted it for 3 years, I would guess. Do I have grey hair? YEP! I also have about 30 extra pounds, too. I don't try to hide them any more than my grey...LOL.

Hey, I wonder if I could put highlights on my body?

Mine is natural, I've never really changed the style or the colour as I pretty much like as it is.

Dear Jo, I would LOVE to grow my hair out. In fact I'm thinking the next few times I dye it will be the semi-poermanet type so that in 4 or 5 months I'll be able to not dye it anymore since the roots will be mostly grown out. I have always LOVED salt and pepper hair. Thats what I have. I also love that mine is pure white instead of grey. My dark brown hgair is almost black so it would look sharp. I just don't "feel" old enough to go grey yet. I don't want people to guess my age as 10 years older than I am... on the other hand I hate when people's eyes bug out when I tell them that Cameron is my grandson

I used to keep mine highlighted mostly blonde for years but this year I decided to dye it to match my natural color with a few golden highlights. I only color it about once every 3-4 months so it's not a big deal. When I go next month I want try a really dark color and see how I look.

I noticed my first grey hair when I was about sixteen. My mother was 100% grey by the time she was in her late thirties. I put off coloring my hair at all (not even box color) til I was in my late twenties, and, then I couldn't stand it anymore! I've been coloring it ever since, every chance I get (i.e. when I have the money!). It's fun! Right now, I had it done in March, so it's looking pretty rough, hahaha, but, that's all right. I'll eventually be able to play with it again.

same here - I was getting greys by the time I was 17-18. I played with color once in HS but started dyeing after I graduated more. Up until 2 years ago I did it all myself. Looking back at pics - sometimes I wonder what I was thinking!

Right now I have highlited hair but thought it was getting rather lite for fall so I colored a box red over it and now I really like the blond coming thru there.
