The thing is that there are Kittens adopted by the Animal Welfare who have pyhsical handicaps when they are Kittens, and with proper care can outgrow a lot of these things.
We are praying hard for your new Little One.

I am just now adopting a Cerebellar Hypoplasia baby myself... Little Elmer came home with me yesterday from the cat shelter I work at. He is about 6 months old, too. He is doing fine so far!

My other four cats are wondering: who's this?!

I also have a CH kitty, Diva. She's 10 years old now. She manages very well, lies down to eat and drink water because her balance is very bad. She howls for someone to brace her while she uses the litter box! She can do it on her own, but asks for help if one of us is around. Silly Diva!

I thank you all for being so supportive.. I feel so blessed to have this chance for this baby to come home with me.. I get her this saturday 23rd & of course out will come the camera.. I have been reading up on CH kitties & have joined the CH Kitty Club.. I just know all will be great & this baby will have a good life in her new domain.. What do you all think of the name Taccoa {in indian this means Beautiful}.. They call her Tipsy & I will keep that name also..

Congratulations on your new baby! Sounds very much like CH and am so glad to see that you have joined the CH yahoo group. Would love to see all the CH moms there! We have five CH babies ranging from mild with other disabilities to moderately severe with neurological damage. There are several others here with different degrees of neurological disabilities. I wish Ashley would yell at me to help her use a litter box. I have absolutely no idea where she is going to pee or poop next. Sometimes it's on the newspaper spread all over her bathroom, sometimes on the linoleum, and both of these are where I want her to go. I clean up several times a day to make sure she has lots of clean space and I make sure she has corners to lean into to give her stability. But sometimes she pees or poops in the middle of the room on the carpet. It's so random that it really frustrates me. I don't react to it, I just respond by cleaning it all up again, more often than not removing the section of carpet to prevent repeat problems. Ashley's balance is not as bad as Diva's, she just wobbles while she eats and drinks in the same position as her brothers. I may be forced to buy a large cage and retrain her because I've lost about half my upstairs carpets and rugs.

Yes, Lvpets2002 - I am a long time member of the CH yahoo group. We had six CH babies until we lost our Little MaxMan who was severe CH - he could not sit, stand or walk on his own, had head intention tremors, was unable to turn his head left to right or move his eyes left to right, had scoliosis of the spine, arthritis, a low grade heart murmur, had a severe underbite and a condition called mega esophagus. Lest you think poor kitty - he was the most spoiled kitty who ever lived - he played, he 'barked' as he had no meow nor could he purr, but when he barked that he wanted something you better jump because he'd flip onto his side and scoot across the room after it. He had a special bed in every room and wherever we were he went. He loved cat nip and you'd open the container, he'd put his face into it and when he finally came up for air he'd be green - of course he made many friends seeing as he had his own LARGE container of home grown and premium cat nip that was sent to him often by his other mother who hand raised him from the moment of birth when she realized there was something very wrong and very special about this little man. She refused to allow any vet to put him to sleep and spent many many hours with him the four months she had him until we got to be his forever parents. He was truly the most special being that I have been blessed to have shared my life with and when MaxMan chooses another for us, I will welcome that little one with open arms and heart. /mari
