I'm so glad you cleared THAT up! From here he looks suspiciously like Mario in surgeon's threads!

Slick, I'm glad you had a better time of it last night and let's hope the docs remove the chest tube so you can get your own room and get some much-needed rest! We're all helping to carry the load, so I hope our efforts helped to lessen the pain a bit.

I've been unable to connect also, and am so sorry to hear about the pain she's been in, but glad to hear they finally got the beautiful blue pill routine down pat now.

I also know that being able to pee on your own is another big step, and getting the chest tube out will be another. Although.....my dad tells me its very painful. He was kind of out of it when they removed his and later on when he was telling us about it, he told us the doc punched him in the chest. Hurt like h*ll, but it's quick so it only hurts for a short time.

So....hoping things get better every day!

I have not posted since Slick's surgery, but I stop in every day for an update.

I am sorry that she has been in pain, but sounds like the blue pills are helping. One thing that I was told after my surgery (VERY minor compared to what she has been through) was that the pills should be in your system all the time. Don't wait to take one once the pain gets bad. Sounds like her night nurses need to be reminded of that and be certain Slick is well taken care of ALL the time.

Dr. Pete is adorable! I am sure she will love him more once she is in her own room.

And..... so Slick was talking about peeing??? How is that any different than what most of us post on here all the time? I mean come on, we ALL get excited when one of our furbabies is able to poop and/or pee when it has been difficult. This is no different! I am glad that her sense of humor is coming back, that is another sign of healing.

I am saying prayers for Slick daily, and I will take some of that pain from her. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, so I can take an extra dose for others.

Keep getting better Slick! (((hugs))) from Indiana!

So glad to hear she was finally able to sleep a little. Hopefully the pain won't be so intense soon, that's a bummer .

Dr. Pete is adorable, and his mah-ve-lus t-shirt says it all!
More prayers for a quick revcovery, Slick!

I did talk to Slick this evening, and I woke her up when I called - darn, darn, darn.

But maybe it was a good thing because she is scheduled to receive her pain meds at 10 PM and my hope is that for once she will be able to sleep through the night - or at least until the next dosage of pain med.

She is now in a semi-private room - but she was promised a private room.
Her roommate has a "condition" that doesn't make sharing the bathroom too appealing.

There is something that she wanted me to post and I absolutely refused - talk about TMI!!!

So she settled with - well tell them that "all systems are go" - well, we are all family aren't we? Guess you can all handle it!!

In all seriousness - she is better - but not better - the tube from her lungs is really hurting her and she found out today that she will have it for a few more days.

The food they are serving (or not serving) is awful. Her dinner was horrible so she isn't eating much. She wanted some ice water and I had to badger her to ASK FOR IT!! But they did bring some while we were on the phone.

At least she can turn her lights off for the night - and she doesn't have blaring lights to try to sleep under.

Taking it a day at a time - and praying each step of the way..........

She doesn't have the final test results back yet - so I know that is weighing on her mind. And mine too!

xxoo I am going to bed.................zzzzzzzzz
