Thank You for that "Slick" up date!!!!!!

She took a "Pee Pee"~~~~ and posted that~~~~ on Pet Talk!!!!!!!!!!

How wonderful to learn that her "sense of humor" is intact too, and, that they have her pain medications under control! The sooner she gets to that private room, with Dr.Pete, the better. Dr. Pete appears more than capable of taking good care of her!!!

Eat well and Rest ~~ Slick. All of us are thinking of you everyday!!

Thanks for the update, Gini. Yup, without a catheter, she's one step closer to feeling like a human being again! Amazing how much we take such ordinary things for granted, isn't it? Oooh, I hope the chest tube gets removed today, I hope I hope I hope!

Thanks for the update, Gini! I'm glad the nurses have got it sorted out about the little blue pills. Having her catheter removed must be such a comfort for her. Let's hope the chest tube comes out too!

She may even feel like reading a bit, and perhaps watch the tele (if there is any).

Now Slick, when you see this, remember that you promised to take it easy and get the rest you need, so don't start rushing around the corridors to show off your slippers and Dr. Pete!

Keep your spirit up girl and get better each day, we're all rooting for you!

    ((((((hugs))))))

I'm so glad you cleared THAT up! From here he looks suspiciously like Mario in surgeon's threads!

Slick, I'm glad you had a better time of it last night and let's hope the docs remove the chest tube so you can get your own room and get some much-needed rest! We're all helping to carry the load, so I hope our efforts helped to lessen the pain a bit.

I've been unable to connect also, and am so sorry to hear about the pain she's been in, but glad to hear they finally got the beautiful blue pill routine down pat now.

I also know that being able to pee on your own is another big step, and getting the chest tube out will be another. Although.....my dad tells me its very painful. He was kind of out of it when they removed his and later on when he was telling us about it, he told us the doc punched him in the chest. Hurt like h*ll, but it's quick so it only hurts for a short time.

So....hoping things get better every day!

I have not posted since Slick's surgery, but I stop in every day for an update.

I am sorry that she has been in pain, but sounds like the blue pills are helping. One thing that I was told after my surgery (VERY minor compared to what she has been through) was that the pills should be in your system all the time. Don't wait to take one once the pain gets bad. Sounds like her night nurses need to be reminded of that and be certain Slick is well taken care of ALL the time.

Dr. Pete is adorable! I am sure she will love him more once she is in her own room.

And..... so Slick was talking about peeing??? How is that any different than what most of us post on here all the time? I mean come on, we ALL get excited when one of our furbabies is able to poop and/or pee when it has been difficult. This is no different! I am glad that her sense of humor is coming back, that is another sign of healing.

I am saying prayers for Slick daily, and I will take some of that pain from her. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, so I can take an extra dose for others.

Keep getting better Slick! (((hugs))) from Indiana!
