Slick, we're all thinking of you, the pain is bad, but it'll get less and less every day, right? We hope, and those walks in your cool slippers - think of them as sightseeing, not torture, okay? Smile at everyone you pass, even if you don't feel cheery - it'll cheer them up, and that cannot hurt, right?

Slick, I hope that you'll be in less pain each day and will recover quickly. You're still in my thoughts and prayers.

I just got off the phone with Slick (she was loaned a phone to take the call, won't have one for awhile). She sounds wonderful (if a bit buzzed ) but was so happy to hear about Kiki Kay, and asked me to send a round of drinks to Thursdays. She was very tired so we only spoke for a bit. I'll call you Gini, Randi, Karen (do I have your number?), ChrisH ~ what a happy phone call

Mayor Karen, Gini and just a few others know that one door slammed shut on me last week. But a window opened with speaking with Slick today and knowing Ki is home with Kay. The lord works in mysterious ways I guess. Maybe my Thunder helped Kiara to find her way home.

To hear she's in pain breaks my heart. I hope the pain is easing and the road to recovery will be swift.

I just got off of the phone after talking to Slick as well and she sounds amazing. Today she walked up the hall about half way with her physiotherapist and YES she had her fuzzy cat slippers on.

She has a bunch of tubes she isn't happy about and she told me that they have reduced the medication she receives by tube and gave her....as she described them.........two beautiful blue pills

All she wanted to do was sleep and she missed some visitors this afternoon that will return this evening.

I noticed that she didn't cough ONCE while we were on the phone - and that is a first for me.

I have asked her permission to give out her home address and she said yes, that is fine - but would prefer if you email me or p/m me and I can reply with her address.

Her sense of humor was in prime shape so that really encouraged me as well.
If she is giving me a bad time - then I KNOW she is getting better.

    She just needs to rest.

Dear God, THANK YOU for answering our prayers for our dear Slick!!

Thanks for the encouraging updates, Gini & Laurie. I've been worried about Slick and the pain all day long, but it sounds like she's handling it well.....with the help of her little blue buddies of course.

Gini, send my love to Slick. I hope every single day is going to get better for her.

    Goodnight.

Gini, just tell the slickster that she has to leave those little beautiful blue pills in the hospital. No taking them into the bar!

Send her gentle hugs from all of the denizens of thursdays.

Thanks for the great updates Laurie and Gini. It's wonderful to hear that Slick is doing so well. I hope that the little blue pills will help ease her pain.
