I'm so glad to hear it went well. Anesthesia makes you so dizzy- even when they wouldn't cut anything

Hope that Slick sleeps safe and sound

Gini, thanks so much for the update! So glad the opeation went well. It's very reassuring to hear she was able to say Hi! Now she needs a good long rest, and then some yummy food.

For those of you who don't know ... if you want to send her a card, you can send it to her home address and she'll get it.

All my best wishes for a full and speedy recovery!

LOL about her friend and PT - some just don't get it!

Hi everyone, Friday 9/15 - almost 9 PM.

I had a call this evening from Slick's friend and she was able to talk very briefly to Slick and also to Slick's Mom.

Apparently the "walking" part is a bit exaggerated. They had her "standing"
and also got her in a chair to sit for a while today.

She has been moved to the next level of care which is a 12th floor ward with five women in the room and one nurse on constant duty.

I am sorry to report that Slick had a terrible day. She told Betty to please just call Gini and tell her I had a really rough day and I am in a lot of pain.

This was to be expected I suppose - but hurts to hear just the same. Even if the cutest male nurse in the world came along, it doesn't sound as though Slick would be in the mood.

Slick does not have a phone in this room - I think she used her own cell phone or the hospital's portable to call Betty. When Betty called the hospital they would not let her talk to Slick - but gave Slick the message and Slick promptly got a phone and called back, but it was a very short conversation.

Connie - I think we need to ask those angels to lift the weight of the pain away from her as soon as possible - or double dose those good drugs.

xxoo to all - I will post more as I learn more.

As much as the walking around sounded great, what she is experiencing I'm sure is much more "normal" for what she has been through! They always force you to at least try to stand the day after surgery, to help prevent you from developing pneumonia. Most of the time the patients look at the nurses like "you want me to do WHAT?" I'm sure they will keep those pain meds coming, and hopefully she will get some relief and rest as well. Hang in there, Slick .... better days are ahead!

    Hugs,
    Kim

Thanks Gini for keeping everyone posted ... although pain is normal part of any surgical procedure, it is 'painful' for us to know that a dear friend is feeling so uncomfortable.

I hope the messages coming through from PT are somehow soothing for Slick and give her a moment's ease from time to time - a smile is often times a very good pain remedy albeit brief.

And so to you dear Slick, I am wishing many, many, many smiles to ease your pain.

Sleep well and take time to heal.

    Gentle hugs,
    Betty

As you say Gini, it hurts to hear. Extra strong prayers on the way for our sweet, dear lady.
