Star is registered AKC as Blue Moon Star (I didn't care for the Kennel name, so I didn't use it.)
Sherman is AKC Destiny's Raise the Bar. Before deciding on the call name Sherman, they called him "Bar Boy"
Good breeders breed for more than just "pretty dogs", they also strive to improve the breed, both in structure and temperment. A good breeder will only breed sound dogs with good movement, good disposition, and certified hips & eyes. Dogs that don't meet the breed standard are sold on spay/neuter contracts as pet quality, as they don't want a bunch of byb breeding dogs that have been culled out. It's one way to stop genetic disorders from proliferating. My Sherman is an example of this - his litter all developed juvenile cataracts, a genetic disorder often seen in huskies. He & his littermates will never be bred. His parents will not be bred to each other again, but I'm not sure if this also means they won't be bred to other dogs. His mom had several perfectly fine litters before. Registry is another way to track genetic records.
