OK, I don't mind having a Pain Killer for breakfast, it is all in a good cause. It's already today here, Slick, but I hope you are sleeping peacefully just now. There won't be a minute of the day when someone isn't thinking of you and wishing you well.

It's already almost 7:00 am here, which means 5:00 am for Slick, so I'm sure she's awake already and possibly almost ready to leave. Seems they always want you at the hospital at the crack of dawn. I woke up and my very first thought was "Today's the day, Slick's having surgery today." Slick, I know I will not stop thinking about you today until I read a good uppydate and know everything went well. Gini, we're counting on you!

I've got a lot to do today, so I think I'm going to take a pass on the pain killer - sorry Karen, hate to make you drink alone. Maybe Mario.....Mario, what's in that glass?!!??!!

Slick described Laurie and I one day on the phone. She said that Laurie would be the take charge kind of person - and I would be the one with tears in my eyes - unable to move. Dang, if that girl isn't right! I have had tears in my eyes all morning.

Soooo, I would like TWO eyepatches and just please put a good strong drink in front of me - I know I will be able to find it.

Two eyepatches indeed. Boy, anything to stay out of the kitchen eh Gini? That's OK, you've been on Slick duty for ages now, let me lead you to a comfy chair and I'll putter around in the kitchen and start some comfort food... buttermilk biscuits for sure with maybe some homemade apple butter. Boy, I love apple butter.

I've brought some apples from my Mum's tree for you, Laurie. No idea what variety they are, but they sure taste good. I'll chop!

Met with MY surgeon this morning and my surgery is scheduled for 10/20 - minor hernia repair; in & out one day thing. Doc said I should be back to work the following Monday (darn!), no heavy lifting for three weeks after that so I'll be working out like a fiend until then! I'm glad for this diagnosis, rather than the lipoma (benign tumor) they initially thought it was.

A cuppa coffee for me to wash down the biscuits and I'm back to work.
