Thanks everyone. I'm having a pretty good day! My sis woke me up singing to me over the phone. Got cool pressies from her and my parents. My co-workers found out it was my birthday and brought in a cake--ice cream cake actually! Yummy! A good friend took me for lunch which involved more cake! You can never have too much cake--at least one day a year! I also got an email this morning from my best friend in high school. I haven't heard from her in at least 10 years so that was pretty cool!

The kayak wasn't really a birthday present. I bought it in part because Stuart said he'd come with me occasionally; partly because the store owner offered me a price I couldn't refuse(although my Visa card may beg to differ on that!); partly because it's lighter, faster and tippier than my current kayak(which I still love and will use often); and I really like to kayak so even if Stuart never comes with me again, I'll get my money's worth out of it!

Stuart doesn't do birthdays, Christmas or any other occasion really. It used to drive me crazy, but now I just buy my own presents and use his credit card. It works for both of us. I always get what I want and he doesn't have to go to town!

This is what his Visa card bought me this year! It's silver, opals and amethyst. I got in Alaska a couple weeks ago!

We are supposed to be going for dinner if Stuart gets off work in time. If he doesn't, he's going hungry because I'm not cooking and I've eaten enough cake today to not need other food for days!
