That was a very powerful poem. And you're right, most people don't think twice about cow slaughter because we were brought up in a meat eating society. That's the way it's supposed to be. Unfortunately, when you develop a bond it becomes so much more difficult.

I'm sorry for your loss honey. And I don't blame you for not touching beef since then. I certainly couldn't do it either.

I have always wondered how those that raise a cow could stand to see it killed, especially a sensitive soul like yourself. I am sorry you had to go through that. I guess the only consolation is that those cows are treated humanely, unlike many other beef cattle.

That was a very heart-felt poem, and I'm so sorry about the steer you lost, and understand exactly where you are coming from. Cattle, and often pigs and sheep too, are sometimes viewed no more than a pack of meat. ((hugs)) for you.
