Thread: how long should it take to train my pup to sit?

    Yes always associate a hand signal with the voice command. With puppies they look at my hand and as I back the hand toward the pup and as they watch the hand come closer they roll back to a sit automatically. Then the rewards and praise come from you.

    I have been using the NILIF training method with Bailey. I don't even have to tell him to sit anymore! He sits before I open a door, before I put his food down and before he gets any pets.
