It's the same way where I'm from. The rodeo is a huge event and kids get out of school for it. They have 2 big rodeos each year, one in October and the other in February and a bunch of smaller events throughout the year. The one in February is HUGE. Along with the rodeo in February they have a fair and a pageant and lots of things.

I'm not against rodeos, but I'd rather spend my time elsewhere so I never go. My parents and sister go almost every year though.
