Poof'ing is good! Good job! Now to "poof" the other cat! Well done and she's gorgeous! No way a street cat, not with that sweet pink nose!

OH MY GOSH!! She was doing that and you have to give her to someone else???? She is just BEAUTIFUL and I think there was nothing else you could do other than to snatch her.. Leaving a kitty outside on a busy street shows he don't care about his cats anyway.... we all know how dangerous it is outside for a kitty, even far away from traffic... (Just think how bad you would have felt if you passed up the chance to snatch her and saw her dead on the street the next day.)

Oh Laura, that was one thing that I dreaded if that ever happened. I think I would have literally picked up the kitten and pounded on the guys door until he answered and showed him exactly WHY you don't leave your kittens out to romp around in a busy traffic area.

Trust me when I say, that if for some reason, Joan decides not to take her, it will be very, very hard for me to let go of this love bug.

Thank you everyone for putting my mind at ease, even though I am sitting here on pins and needles just waiting for Pierre to come to my door asking if I had seen his kitty.

    Lorraine,

You absolutely did the right thing and you are my hero! I have catnapped before and although I did fell guilty for doing it I knew it was the right thing to do for the cat.

    picture this:

    **knock*knock**

    Lorraine opens the door slighlty

    Yes? Oh Pierre

    Have you seen my cat?

    Umm? No.

Fingers crosses, pushing said kitty back from door with foot.

    OK then, thanks.

    closes door

    Whew!!!

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!! Now I am sooooooooooooooooo upset.

I just got a call from my friend Joan again and she said that she would feel very uncomfortable taking the cat from the guy. She said that if I could clear it with him first, then she would be okay with it. I can understand somewhat what she is saying, but like I told her. I personally don't feel that the guy really gives a damn. One time I had asked him, what if someone picked your kitten up off the street and took her home. He said, "Oh well. I just hope that they would treat her well." I also told her that in reality she is a stray as she is always outside and that he had found her himself on the street about a month ago. Also that she would be saving her life. But, she still wouldn't feel right doing it.

*Sigh* Now what do I do. Should I just go and ask the dopehead or what?

I would just try and find someone else and not tell them how you got the cat. He probaboly won't even miss the cat but I wouldn't take the chance by asking him.

You did the only human thing Lorraine.
Even if Pounce had not been hit by a Car, she would have gotten pregnant.
You broke a small link in the chain of unwanted Kittens.

What dopehead gives a reasonable response? Please keep her, or find her another home. In your place, I'd go on the offensive if Pierre calls. To the question "Have you seen my cat", respond "Why, what's happened to her? Has she gone mising? When did you last see her? Have you checked with the shelters? What if she's been hit. I told you to keep her inside."

Tell her that said it was okay, as long as she takes good care of her. Because he did, it just jappens that it was in response to a hypothetical question you asked.

    Here's what you could do.....

Mention to the guy, the next time you see him, "I think I saw your cat a few blocks away from here the other day. It looks like someone may be feeding her in hopes of keeping her." And see how he reacts. If he says "WHERE?" just say "it was 'so and so' street but I can't remember the exact block."

If he ends up saying "GOOD" or anything similar, that sounds like permission to me.

PLEASE make the male kitten go "Poof" too!!! You did the right thing. I did the same thing once, and it was the RIGHT thing to do for the cat. He now lives in a home INSIDE, where he is adored. At his other "home," the cat was outside, never fed, and neglected. Please get the male!!! He will never be neutered and will be outside. I work with heroin addicts and only one thing is important to them: DRUGS!!!! SAve that baby!!!PLEASE!!!

What a lovely lady. You definitely did right taking her off the street.
