Thank you Wolf_Q!
Kirk has one right now on a collar from Planet Dog (http://planetdog.com/leashes.asp?thePage=1). It is heavier than plastic, but not terribly so. It seems very sturdy...we've had no problems after using it almost exclusively for almost 3 months. I would recommend them.![]()
Many thanks to Roxyluvsme13 & k9krazee for my great new siggy!!

Both of my dogs have a metal buckle. It is very sturdy I don't think the weight should be an issue unless you have a toy dogThe one thing is the buckles get scratched really quickly. I can take a picture of what they look like now after a couple months of use.

Star and Sherman both have that type of buckle - I wouldn't buy anything else. I've had the plastic buckles break twice, and I don't trust the traditional buckles where you have a loose length of collar leftover. (if there's a way out of something, a husky will find it). I tried the martingales, I think they're really pretty. Many of the sled dog people use them, but I didn't care for them, as I adjust my collars pretty often and my dogs didn't like me slipping them over their heads.
