Lut - scary as this is for you, I'm very relieved that you have decided to have Snoopy spayed. I had a cat with early medical problems and her first vet advised against spaying. Since Thisbe and I were very closely bonded from our first moments together, I carried that decision no matter what other vets said to the contrary. It was only when she was about 6 years old and a vet told me about mammary cancer that I decided to risk having her spayed. She was fine, but because I had waited years to have the surgery done she did get cancer when she was 14. If I'd take the risk earlier, I'm sure she would have lived many more years. Snoopy is a special case, so she will get lots of extra special care and I feel sure will come through it all perfectly well.

Ok, I think I'm missing something here, WHY does she need artificial respiration during surgery????

Good lucky to you little Snoopy! I'm sure you will do much better than your mom will do!!

Lut- good luck to you too!! Go home and hug the rest of the kitty gang, they will help you get through this!

So I guess they add more oxygen or something - keeping her asleep with a breathing mask instead of a needle?

Dear little baby! I went to her site you posted - TOO MUCH CUTENESS!

I wish you had a local newspaper to do a story on her...I wonder if the people who threw her out on her own would read it....grrrrr

    Best to Snoopy!

    Snoopy needs your support

Hi Snoopy! I was looking on Pet Talk today while Meowmie was at work and saw that you'll be going to the kitty hospital next week. There's nothing to worry about and it will be all over before you know it. When I had the boy version of your operation I had to stay overnight and how I missed Meowmie and Soncat! The whitecoats and the nurses took very good care of me but they did tease me about my moustache. I didn't like when they did that but we both know how silly these hoomins can be at times. I'm saying my kitty prayers for you

Please don't worry, Snoopy's Meowmie! At first Snoopy might be a bit scared because she won't be going home with you. I was when Meowmie left me at the kitty hospital. But I got lots of attention and scritchies from the nurses. It was even fun talking to the other kitties all night long. Snoopy will miss you just like you'll miss her but she knows for sure that you will come back to bring her home.I'm saying my kitty prayers for you too!! Purrs and headbumpies to help you feel better.....

OMG!! I really must have missed that thread! Thank you for re-sharing Snoopy's story with me. I remember you getting her, but I really don't remember any more! Oh no! not only a senior moment, but a blonde moment at the same time!!

I really need to start paying attention around here!

Lut- Please keep us posted on Snoopy's surgery! You and your husband are a very special people for taking her in, and she knew it that is why she waited for your husband!!

I just hate people that dump cats

Aww, thank you!! She is a very special cat, in many ways
Tomorrow is her last day at home before the operation. I will spoil her rotten: all the food she wants, lots of playing, new toys, and tons of cuddles .
Why?? After tomorrow evening 12 pm, no more food or drink for my baby, untill she gets back home on wednesday

I know it is hard for you to be without Snoopy but it is for the best. Pets that are neutered or spayed aren't "frustrated" and they don't try to run away to breed where they could get lost or injured.

I will be thinking of you and widdle Snoops - I hope she is as friendly there this time as she was last time!

Sounds like she will have the very best care she can get!

What a miracle that Bernard found her and brought her home! Such love and nothing but the best for her!
