    Goodbye my little girl

My little girl Shiraz was hit by a car three days ago. Shiraz was the definition of the phrase scaredy cat. She was only 2 years old. She was incredibly sweet and loving and was the most good natured cat ever. She never went far from the house but she was hit by a car four doors down from our house in a cul-de-sac. My heart is broken and I miss her so much.

    So Sorry

I am so sorry about your loss. What a sweet girl she was. We lost our baby Leo 3 weeks ago from kidney problems and we still look for him also to greet us when we come home from work like he did for 13 years. Rest in Peace little girl.

Thank you jazzcat. Thankyou leo&dominosmom. I am very sorry for you loss too.

It certainly is heartwrenching walking through the front door and not seeing them! I can't actually remember the last time I cried this much! Shiraz was a funny little thing. She was scared of everying, inlcuding the wind! She liked to be cuddled and to get under the bed covers and lick your legs. I always thought of her as a "blonde" of the cat world. She had definte human traits (learned from me I would say!). She had to be forced to go and exercise and like her food a little too much!!

Thats so sad that she gets out, and someone who is not paying attention makes your Cat an Angel long before her time.
Shiraz will still be with you , and she is now part of The Pet Angel Army.
She will keep an eye on you, until you meet again.

Thank you catmandu. The worst part is that I wasnt with her. It wasnt until we got home from work that we found out. Somebody had left a telephone message saying that they found her and put her on his garden. Both my husband and I couldnt bring ourselves to see her that way so my dad went and picked her up for us even though we could see the house where she was. Unfortunately we were both so upset that we forgot to give him anything to put her in and I had to see her. Seeing her that way just makes me pray to God that she felt no pain and that it was instant. I cant bear to think that she led there wanting and needing us and wondering where we were and why we werent coming to help her.

Ironically, we are due to move in a couple of days and I had spent the last three months worrying that she wouldnt settle in the new house. I never thought that something like this would happen.

Oh, rest in peace, sweet girl. Now that you're at the Rainbow Bridge, there's nothing to be scared of any more. You watch over your Mom and Dad now, okay?

I am terribly sorry for your loss. How very sad when they are taken from us much too soon. May Shiraz be looking down on you, as you make the journey to your new home. Hugs to you.

Thank you for loving a scardey cat, for who she was.

I had an indoor-outdoor cat once, who was supposed to make the move to a new house. It worried me how he would do, as we are in an area with birds of prey. Milo was found dead, just months before the move.

Remember, it's not the length of time, but the quality of time you have.

I hope the pain of missing her can start to subside.

    Godspeed to the Bridge, Shiraz

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful kitty, and at such a young age!
I grieve with you. Time will make the pain less as it is replaced by sweet memories of her instead.

    5 Days on

Thank you to everyone for the kind messages. It is now five days since Shiraz went. I still can't believe that she has gone. When I come down in the mornings I keep expecting her to be there. Her sister Tia really doesnt know what is going on. She keeps expecting her to jump out from behind the curtains and play with her. When she realises that she is not there she gives me a really sad look which is heartbreaking. The pain is knowhere near gone but it is a tiny tiny bit less than what it has been. Having a photo of her on display is helping so I can have a little talk to her when I need to! It also helps to pour my feelings out on this web site and to hear from other cat lovers who understand how I am feeling so thank you again.
