Travis is purebred. I got him from a breeder and saw both of his parents. His father was the "Rin Tin Tin" type GSD(BEAUTIFUL Black and Tan Plush Coat) and his mother was a Bi Color with a very short coat.
We are having issues with Travis' weight right now. I can't figure out why he is so skinny. He eats all of the time. I give him three meals a day. He's a VERY active dog (look at what breed he is, it's a given) We're working on fattening him up. I go to a German Shepherd forum on a regular basis and they have given me great advice. So, his weight probably should be sorted out.![]()

Miles is quite the little ham. He loves to dance. I was very lucky to catch it so clearly though.![]()

Nice to meet your pups! A good-looking bunch. Love the pics where you caught Travis in mid-air, and of course that cute little paws-up from miles!
Thank you everyone![]()

Welcome! You're furkids are all gorgeous! Travis is sooo handsome! I'm having a lot of trouble keeping weight on my little dachshund Molly, she's not very "ribby" or anything but just not quite filled out enough. She's been through a lot in the past six months though so I think she'll be fine. Anywho, I can't wait to see more pictures!

If you're having trouble with weight, perhaps he has worms? I'm sure your other board probably already addressed that, but in case they didn't, that could explain any problems with weight that Travis is having.A dose of Drontal is really all it will take to clear that right up.
Beautiful dog though!
**hugs**
Thats what I thought as well. They did suggest having his stools checked. As far as I can tell, they are just like they always have been.Originally Posted by wolflady
For a while I wasn't too worried about his weight because German Shepherd don't fully fill out until about 2-3 years of age, but once his ribs started showing so much I decided its time to worry.
I'll probably end up talking to my vet about his weight soon. Right now we are increasing his kibble amount by a little bit. (Not too much though)
