I grew up in a family that made jams and jellies every year. All my peanut butter sandwiches growing up were made with currant jelly - mmmm - graham crackers after school with peanut butter on one and currant jelly on the other, smushed together - yum!
Then I grew up and realized currant jelly is expensive and only sold in small jars. How strange!
I never had grape jelly, cannot stand grape jelly and peanut butter together.
We made:
Currant jelly
Raspberry jam and jelly
Quince jelly
Apple jelly
Mint jelly (apple based)
Rose hip jelly
Strawberry jam
and canned tomatoes, pears, tomatoes, picalilly, pepper relish, pickles of several varieties ...
