OMG - would your building manager or landlord have ANY idea who is doing this?

Did you say you were going to be moving and would take them with you?

Or would you be allowed to keep them where you are?

I forget a lot of what you said...but I am glad you put a note under everyone's door.

What cowards - to not talk to you directly. I mean - what harm are the cats doing to a CAR? Muddy footprints?

I would hope someone can foster them til they get a home, with you or someone else.

What is the shelter like where you are?

This is what the second note said verbatim:

To Whom It May Concern PLEASE keep your cats under control..... I do not appreciate the cat droppings near my door nor the cats on MY CAR or in my yard!!! This is the Second Notice regarding this issue please correct the situation or I will.

And then there is a picture of two dogs in cages with a lady bringing them food. I took that to mean they should call the shelter about having the cats picked up.

The shelter here is pretty nice. They take cats by appointment only so that they never have more than they can adopt out. The only thing is, if it is not possible to adopt a cat out, it has to be put down. The black kitty outside is not very friendly. His owner was an old man who lived alone until he got sick and his children came to take care of him. When he passed away, his children moved his stuff out and left his cat! The kitty is friendly to men but doesn't like women much. I'm not sure how he does with kids. I will have to tell the shelter that he needs a home with a man.

I wish I could airmail him to Canada! He'd be a great addition to Gary's Porchies!

We wanted to move and take the cats with us but we haven't been able to find a house we can afford. We're a young couple and we're struggling to save money and I'm trying to find a job but it's really competive right now.

I'm just really angry right now. I just don't understand some people, caring more about their cars than the welfare of an animal....

Thank you for listening; I'm sorry I'm in such a bad mood. Everyone here on Pettalk is great for listening and understanding.

Thank you so much for doing what you could to help out those cute little helpless kitties. You are an angel.

I understand completely where you are coming from. I had the exact same problem with one of my nighbors, except it was my own cat, not a stray. I tried to keep her inside only but she would tear up my screens, break my screan door, do anything & everything she could in her power to get back outside. Thankfully after a few months of non stop hard work I taught her to stay off of the cars. (knock on wood, it's still working for us).
