Sure I'm interested in those bin cages, but I'm not into buying off the internet. Too much of a risk of getting your code/phone stolen or whatever. I'd much rather like to buy one from the pet store later today

Don't even say I don't know what I'm talking about.. god, I can't even say an opinion anymore without getting freaking yelled at. For one thing, I don't even see why I defend myself anymore.. It's pretty pointless since everyone is going to continuously yell at me for my pet's care when you sure as heck don't even know me. Well, sorry for not keeping my thoughts to myself. As said, I do have a right to my opinions, just as the rest of you. And you're blaming me for starting these fights? Pfft.
You may not be able to handle 5 but I can. People have differences you know And guess you bought five? My mom! I didn't even know we were getting 5 until the cash register. 2 were supposed to be my sister's, and 1 my brothers, 2 mine. Not all mine. EDIT: Oh, also, I thought you said you were keeping your feelings to yourself? Now you said you had a right to express your feelings? Hmmm... don't get it

Oh sure.. Excuse me for caring about the wellbeing of a hamster. (and if someone brings me and my 8 bettas into this when it's not needed..) They need time, socialization, and weekly cage cleanings. It's just kind of hard to do that with 5, even if 3 of those belong to your brother and sister. Okay, maybe you can handle them, just hope your dad isn't allergic to them, too.

and I'm trying to keep my feelings to myself, because someone always brings me and my pets into arguments, and I'm tired of it.

You know why people bring you into their conversations (NOT arguments)? Because you're a bad example. I take the hamsters out daily and tame & play with them. I let them run in their ball, run around my room under supervision, put them in a dry bathtub to play with their toys I bought for them. I hold them all the time and they're getting a lot better, I haven't got bitten in a while. We have time to clean their cages, we have 5 bags of bedding, and we've got to use it don't we? Also, who brought you into this conversation? No one, so keep trying to keep your feelings to yourself No one even brought you here you were one of the people that said ooooooooo I'm gonna say something negative like Makayla said.

Uhh, more like arguments to me. You're the one who's rehoming your dog, because of your inability to research before you bought him, not me. You're the one who was already thinking of another puppy when you still had poor Max. Ohh, if I'm such a bad example, show me one thing that says I'm a bad pet owner. I'm selling my own items to buy better food for my dogs. Don't see you starting to buy better things for your dogs. Didn't see you trying to the best of your ability to keep Max. Oh good for you.. I thought you just got them the other day? That would be a bit soon to say for a long time. I never mentioned anything about the bedding, and it could always go to the shelter if you don't use it. Umm, actually yes I was brought into this conversation, and it seems lately because I'm a "bad example" everyone is bringing me into their conversations. I'm tired of it. You don't know me, you don;t have the right to call me a "bad example" when you shouldn't be talking, and you have no right to judge me. I only said something negative, because I do happen to care about the wellbeing of animals.

I am in agreement with Crazy-Cat-Lover.

BUT Warahgirl1995, that comment about Briana being a "bad example" was totally rude and uncalled for. You shouldn't be saying this because if I remeber correctly, many threads you have started turned into an argument and YOU started them. How is she a bad example?? I HIGHLY doubt you would enjoy being brought up in controversial posts and arguments so why do it to anyone else?? Can we PLEASE stop this stupid argument now!

Actually, I was going to use my $106 of allowance, along with a day of dog walking's money, to buy Max a cable, chain, dog house, toys, and everything. My parents said no and wouldn't let me buy it, so I used to for dogs at the shelter. I did try the best of my ability to keep Max. The BEST of my abilities, and they got me grounded for a looong time.
Where were you brought into this conversation?
Can't find anything? Hmm... I think I know the reason... you brought yourself into this.

This arguement is stupid. I see too many threads where Bri is put down, and too many threads just generally turning into arguements. 5 hamsters is a lot to get at one time if you ask me, but if you are caring for them, then there is no problem. Do not keep syrians together. I will keep an eye on this thread but really I don't want to see the arguement progress further.

I am glad you got hamsters but 5 is alot to take on at once. At least you have you siblings help

Can I ask you a few questions?

What cages do you have currently? If you have crittertrail or habitrail for example you need at least two cages attached for one hamstr. Syrian or dwarf. If you have wire cages what are the dimensions? Using an aquarium what size? Also you don't buy bin cages at a petstore you buy them say at wal*mart and make them yourself. All you have to do is drill holes in them if you don't want to go all fancy

What shavings are you using? Pine or Cedar? http://www.hamsterhideout.com/forum/...?showtopic=778 Check out that link. Here is a link that talks about some safe bedding and shavings. http://www.hamsterhideout.com/forum/...showtopic=2464

What wheels are you using? Runged wheels are bad and can hurt the hamsters feet. Make sure you use solid surfaced wheels.

Are you picking out the sunflower seeds from their food? Sunflower seeds are fattening so to much is unhealthy.

Please do not take my post rudly. It is not intended that way.

Never brought myself into this, was just giving an example, then it was turned into an argument. I'm done with this thread, and tired of being bashed at.

The Syrians have wire/plastic cages and the Dwarfs have a wire cage. The shavings I am using are neither of those but I am using a cotton substance. The wheels I am using are plastic and dont have any wire or metal on them. Yes, I am picking the sun flower seeds out of their food.

Warahgirl: The first link I posted (On page 1) Is a link to intstructions on how to build a bin cage, and the second one is just people's own bin cages as examples on what can be done with them (Tubes, connected cages, etc...Not ones for sale )

Pretty much what you would need to build a bin cage is wire too small for hammy to get through (home depot) a bin (Wal-mart), electrical ties and a drill. It is more effort than buying a cage but cheaper (Providing you can borrow a drill from someone :P )

In all honesty, I would rather see these hamsters in a home rather than in a filthy cage in a pet store.
