Miss Z, OMG! What you went through at that vet was horrible!!!
That vet should have kept Styptic Powder on hand just in case. It's a clotting agent that would have stopped the bleeding. It's unconscionable that they would have burned poor Cookie bunny with a rod, causing even more pain on top of the pain and stress you guys had already experienced!! ..::HUGS::..

Both Abby and Flutter scream as if being murdered but I know its because they don't like the position I put them in to do the trimming - not the trimming itself. The others figured out long ago that being still and quiet gets the job done much faster.

The more you clip their nails the faster they realize its not death on earth. I trim my guys at least once a month. Many times I do it twice a month, like in the summer when nails grow faster. The more you trim their nails the smaller and smaller the quick grows.

The Found Cats hate clipping but Michael has claws that will dig into his paw if I dont, and I just have to ignore his cries and hisses.
The Other Cats take this as a warning, and I have to hunt for them to get thier claws too.

Maybe you could clip the OTHER cats first! Then Michael might relax?

yeah, I know...Mom has to help me with my two.

Cole has REALLY velvety black toes, so it's harder to find the claws!

But BEAUTIFUL toes, all the same.

Both my cats have very fluffy feet - I love those toe tufties, but it DOES make it difficult to find the claws

Never mind claw clipping. Zerlina protests when she's BRUSHED. She doesn't like to be confined, even when it's just in Mom's arms.

Clipping a cats claws CAN hurt if you don't use the right ones. The guillotene type is the best (in my opinion). They also much be sharp. If they're not, you cat's claw will splinter. If you use regular human nail clippers, it can pinch the claw and make it uncomfortable for them.

LOL! Mishi and Mitzi do the same - my neighbors must think I'm a horrible meowmie! They scream bloody murder. Mishi is the worst of the two - he's so big and squirmy that I have to do his nails in several sessions; the big baby.

Mitzi is pretty easy because she's so small I can tuck her under my arm. She also hates it and her claws are so teeny-tiny it's like clipping little needles. Good thing I only have to do it once a month and get it over quickly. They are always rewarded afterward with pets and treats.
